Car Fire Erupts At Auto Body Shop On Long Island (Developing)

Firefighters are responding to a car fire that erupted at an auto body shop on Long Island.

Firefighters responded to a car fire that erupted at the Mecanica En General auto body shop in Brentwood on Wednesday, April 26.

Emergency crews in Brentwood were called at around 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, with reports of a fire at the Mecanica En General, located at 1640 5th Avenue.

Photos posted online by LI Fire Buff show a car inside one of the bays completely engulfed in flames with black smoke pouring out of the garage.

Flames could also be seen coming from an exterior wall, as well as an adjoining bay.

It was not immediately clear what sparked the fire or whether any employees or customers were injured.
